In celebration of the Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival's fifth birthday we are delighted to launch a new free literary event for the whole community, in partnership with the City of London Corporation.
For the very first time, come and enjoy a diverse programme of performance poetry, live from the bandstand in Golders Hill Park, just next door to the main festival in Ivy House! Whoever you are, whatever your age, you may be surprised to discover how much fun poetry can be.
Guest performers include Highgate Poets, Dean Atta (winner of the Spirit of London Award for Achievement through the Arts, Beffta Award for Best Spoken Word Artist), Jannie Jacks (mentor for the BBC "Comic Relief - Stand Up If You Dare!" project and Theo Paphitis SBS winner), Joshua Seigal (acclaimed performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2012 London Olympics and the London Festival of Education), Paul Eccentric of the RRRants Collective and Antipoet, and more.
Our Compere is the inimitable Cat Brogan, an award winning performance poet who has performed at many festivals including Latitude, Cheltenham Literary Festival, The Edinburgh Book Festival, Thames Festival and three shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.
