As part of Brighouse Arts Festival Charlotte Wetton presents an evening of performance poetry including open mic and guests Emma Decent and Steve Nash.
Charlotte Wetton has published poetry in numerous literary journals and in 2012 launched her first audio collection at Ilkley Festival.
Dead Ink Books: “Charlotte Wetton’s startling debut collection ‘Body Politic’.. is a gruesomely charming take on the gender politics of the 21st century from one the UK’s most assured new voices.”

Emma Decent is a spoken word artist known for provocative poetry, original performance prose and new theatre. Her 2013 project ‘Beyond Dreams of Aberystwyth’ - an autobiographical piece of solo theatre about her father which includes poetry, spoken word and multi-media - has been going down a storm including gaining the attention of BBC Radio 4's Midweek in June.
‘Emma Decent is a writer and performer with the rare quality of captivating her audience and never letting them go, her work haunting the emotions and the imagination long after the performance has finished. Subtle, powerful, literary magic.’

Steve Nash is a writer, performer, and lecturer based in Yorkshire. His work has been published widely and even been offered an award or two. His first collection ‘Taking the Long Way Home’ is available from Stairwell Books and was dubbed by One & Other Magazine as “The work of a rare artist with a fire in his head.” If you see him wandering the streets aimlessly, please return him to the nearest Guinness-selling establishment.
