A Song of Two Bridges: Ashley Hutchings and Blair Dunlop
Blackbrook Valley Arts presents A Song of Two Bridges, an evening of poetry, song lyric and music presented and performed by Ashley Hutchings (co-founder of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band) and his son, Blair Dunlop (The Albion Band, BBC Folk Award singer-songwriter).
Blackbrook Valley Arts is a community group which has brought live music and dance to this Derbyshire village for two years. After the success of his first Chinley concert and just before their sell-out concert in March, Ashley Hutchings was asked if he would consider presenting an evening of poetry. His response was an immediate "Yes." Blair chimed in "Can I be involved?"
Ashley’s success as a performer of folk music need not mask his great song lyrics and he will also slip poems into live performance or onto an album. He describes himself as "an occasional poet". Blair, at 21 years old, has won the BBC Radio Horizon Award as best up-and-coming artist in the U.K. in folk and acoustic music. Aside from his talent as a singer-guitarist he has written some remarkable and poetic songs. In their entertainment on 19th September in Chinley they will present poems and song lyrics covering many ages and many moods. Music, of course, will also play a part!
Doors and bar open 7pm. Tickets (in advance only) £10 from Chinley Stores, SK23 6BD or Box Office: email info@blackbrookarts.org.uk. or phone 07977 678355.
