National Poetry Day 2013
Poet in the City is delighted to present the highly acclaimed poet Julia Copus, this year’s host of the Poetry Breakfast, in this exclusive setting at the heart of literary Bloomsbury.
Coffee, croissants and the very best of contemporary poetry will be served at this special event, which provides the perfect start to National Poetry Day.
Julia will read from her collection The World’s Two Smallest Humans (Faber, 2012) which was shortlisted for both the Costa Prize and the TS Eliot Prize.
Julia Copus is one of the most exciting poets writing today. Her two previous collections, The Shuttered Eye and In Defence of Adultery, were both Poetry Book Society Recommendations. She has won First Prize in the National Poetry Competition and the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem (2010). She also writes for radio; her first play, Eenie Meenie Macka Racka, was awarded the BBC's Alfred Bradley prize.
