We hope you're enjoying the current issue of Poetry Review, the first of many to be edited by Maurice Riordan. Would you like to attend a close reading group of poems from the current issue? The ideal size of the group is 5-10 people so spaces will be limited and an early reply is recommended.

What is a Poetry Review Close Reading? It's a teeny bit like a book club. Each attendee reads a poem of their choice from the current issue of Poetry Review, followed by a short group discussion with everyone's input. You'll be asked to say why you chose the poem but you don't have to have any particular knowledge about the poem or poet. The poem can be one you love or hate, or one that intrigues or bamboozles you - it's entirely up to you. We usually find that reading out loud, and the sharing of thoughts, knowledge and opinion, helps to deepen the enjoyment of each poem and the magazine as a whole.

The sessions are free of charge and exclusive to Poetry Society members.
