Featuring Giles Goodland, John McCullough, Kate Potts, Nisha Ramayya, Prudence Chamberlain and Eley Williams, you are invited to Dr Johnson's House for an evening of poetry. Come and hear work dedicated to the celebration and exploration of Johnson's 'harmless drudgery' with pieces that examine the strictures, structures and authority of lexicons, both real and imagined.
For more information about the House: http://www.drjohnsonshouse.org/events.html
Tickets include the recital and a glass of wine served in the Withdrawing Room - doors open at 18.15.
‘It is a general rule in poetry, that all appropriated terms of art should be sunk in general expressions, because poetry is to speak an universal language.’
To book a ticket (£5), please follow the PayPal link on the House's site above.
Entry: £5, including glass of wine
Time: Doors open 6.15pm; reading starts 7pm
