Hugh McMillan and Stuart Paterson

For our 2014 Alternative Burns Night Celebrations we bring you two fantastically entertaining poets for the price of one! Hugh and Stuart will read poems they’ve written about Burns and on some of Burns' favourite themes, Scotland, sex, drink, folk I hate, the human condition......

About Hugh:
"To listen to McMillan is to be in the presence of a comedian of genius...." Tessa Ransford
"In a Scottish literary scene crowded with excellence, McMillan's attack on the familiar is unique" Ian Duhig

About Stuart:
“Stravaigs with the wide eye of a Burns or a Whitman.” Donny O’Rourke
“McGough by way of Morgan.” Alan Bold

In honour of Mr R Burns the immortal memory will be paid its good and proper due with remedying drink and our usual Bakehouse Floor spots.

Come all who dare!

The Fickle Tupperware Bowl of Fate awaits once more.
Bring a favourite Burns poem, one of your own, a song, an entertainment (we can supply a keyboard) either suitable or wholly unsuitable for the occasion.

Price: £8.50

Time: 7:30pm
