A World of Words - a celebration of World Poetry Day
To tie in with World Poetry Day, The Works' Canteen goes global with Michael W.Thomas and Rohit Ballal
Michael W.Thomas- Michael is the Poet at Large to the Conch Republic, Florida and we are pleased to officially welcome him to our World Poetry Day event. Black Country born, the poems in Michael's latest collection Batmans Hill, South Staffs, are to do with growing up about two miles from where the Black Country Museum now stands. It is now out now from Flipped Eye.
Rohit Ballal - Birmingham performance poet Rohit the Poet is also an accomplished sitar player, often mixing North Indian ragas with jazz and funk. Tonight Rohit will be bringing both of his worlds to The Works' Canteen with a mix of ragas and sagas.
The evening is hosted by the museum's poet-in-residence Dave Reeves and promoted in conjunction with Radio Wildfire.
