Monthly open mic evening for all writers of poetry and prose to share their work in a relaxed and friendly pub atmosphere, with a great range of real ales. We meet on the third Wednesday of every month. Get there 7.30pm to put your name on the reading list, or if you just want to listen you are quite welcome. We normally start readings at about 8pm. Admission is now only £1.

Our guest reader in March will be Adam Strickson.

Adam is a theatre director, poet, script writer and librettist, and Teaching Fellow in Creative Writing at the University of Leeds His first collection, An Indian Rug Surprised by Snow, was published by Wrecking Ball Press in 2005. His second, Tear up the lace, came out with Graft Poetry in March 2011. He was lead artist for the imove Olympic cultural project Wingbeats, and a book of his poems and libretti for this project was published by Valley Press in December 2012. He specialises in intercultural community writing and theatre, especially in the towns and cities of Yorkshire and the North West.

The compere for the evening will be Noel Whittall.
