The UK's finest performance poets, spoken word artists, verbose verbalised minds and masters of spit and wit go head to head at The National Slam Final, hosted by Steve Larkin and Sam Berkson, with featured artist Kate Tempest.
Organiser Hammer & Tongue has been running poetry slams throughout the country all year, with regional winners set to compete in this final held in the Royal Albert Hall's Loading Bay, deep underneath the building.
A poetry slam is a democratic system of choosing a poetry champion where the audience decides who wins the day, resulting in high-octane entertainment with "poems" that are not improvised but rather pre-prepared, well crafted, perfected performance pieces, which invariably delight their switched-on audiences.
Featured artist Kate Tempest has been lauded by poets, rappers and critics world-over. Join her and the competitors as one of them is crowned National Poetry Slam Champion 2014.
