Introduced by the Black Country Living Museum's poet-in-residence Dave Reeves, this month's performance is a Black Country Day special and feature will guest poet Roz Goddard, winner of the 2013 BCLM Poetry Competition.
Roz Goddard is a former Birmingham Poet Laureate and short story writer who also won last year's Black Country Living Museum Poetry Competition. An engaging reader of her work her latest collection of poems is The Soprano Sonnets and other poems from Nine Arches Press.
Dave has written for page and stage, and has performed alongside theatre companies. rock bands and folk acts, but tonight he will concentrate on his work in Black Country dialect. Expect strange tales and leaps of the imagination when he explores what he describes as the natural surrealism of the Black Country.
And, as always, there will be plenty of chance to read your own work in a friendly supportive atmosphere. So come along, sign up for a spot, and join us for a Black Country Day celebration on the final night of the first year at The Works' Canteen.
