Following is Stanley Kubrick's first world war masterpiece PATHS OF GLORY (PG)
Please join us in The Basement for this related event entitled "THOSE LONG UNEVEN LINES: THE POETRY OF WAR & CONFLICT"
This will be hosted by one of York's most respected poetry performers Henry Raby.
This runs independently of the film, starting at 7:15pm and priced at £5.
Performers will include:
Mike Kenny, award-winning play-wright. Mike has written dozens of plays performed across the world. He will be reading from his recent work, The Odyssey, commissioned by Derby Theatre.
Catharine Scott, Hull-based poet. Catharine worked as a counsellor with war veterans for 16 years and have written a number of poems based on her experiences.
David Lindsay who will be reciting classic war poetry such as "A Soldier" and "Dulce et decorum est”.
John Gilham who is a regular on the York poetry circuit and will read some of his powerful writings.
