We're back in October for our monthly evening of poetry and spoken word shenanigans.
Headliners for this month are...
DOMINIC SIMPSON
Former middle class father of two, Dominic became a slightly debauched bohemian following a shitty divorce, He started to write through the divorce and ensuing comedy attempts to date and start again.
He's fascinated by the lyricism of words, the sound of words and sometimes by the possibility that absinthe can produce a more colourful outcome to his evenings.
CAROL ROBSON
Carol started writing poetry again in 2009; some of her work reflects her life’s journey with issues around gender, sexuality and mental health-subjects that she is passionate about. However, she also loves to write about a diverse range of subjects. Her self-published collection Words of Darkness and Light is now being published by Thynks Publications as a revised second edition
Carol attended her first poetry open mic event in 2011 and has performed her poetry at many different venues around the country since then.
This year Carol has performed her one-woman show at Greater Manchester, Buxton and Edinburgh Fringes and was nominated for top spoken word at the Greater Manchester Fringe.
Finding Me (Take Me As I Am) Edinburgh Fringe 4 star review quote:
“The putty-like flexibility of spoken word allows [Robson] to navigate this ever-changing universe with lyrical élan”

AMY VREEKE
Amy Vreeke stands on stage admitting things she wouldn't admit to her best friends on their sofas after a bottle of wine. An unmissable romp through a self-confessed twat magnet's guide to keeping the faith.
Amy will be performing as part of The Women In Comedy Festival 2014 @ The Kings Arms Theatre; you can catch her there on Friday 24th October (link just below)

"TSG is inclusive, warm, vibrant and eclectic. It's a pressure-free zone for performers on every level of experience to share their work, and its position at the top of Canal Street is perfect for a night that screams "we're here, we've got beer and our love of verse is severe". If poetry is the new rock n'roll, then TSG is a mix tape which John Peel would have made and played relentlessly." - Geneviève L. Walsh.
"I think it might have been born out of the ashes of Rockworld and the dream of what the village should have been." - Jackie Hagan.
Price: £0.00
Time: 7:00pm
