With guest poet Heather Wastie and introduced by Dave Reeves.
Heather Wastie writes poems songs and monologues and her published work has included themes from both her life as a professional musician and her early years in Lye. Known for creating characters through which she interprets her work, she also works extensively in community settings and with oral history. She was writer in residence at the Museum of Carpet in Kidderminster, and her recent work includes a show about the lives of canal women. However serious Heather's themes though, the empathy she has for working lives and her humour shine through.
So come along and join us, take part and read your own work or simply sit back and listen to a thoroughly entertaining evening of spoken work in the convivial atmosphere of the Rolfe Street cafe. The evening will be introduced by the Black Country Living Museum's Poet-in-Residence, Dave Reeves, whose latest book Black Country Dialectics is a Poetry-On-Loan recommended read.
