Tongue Fu kicks off 2015 with a bill to bite your January blues on the bum, featuring a fruity mix of poetry, storytelling and comedy. With improvised accompaniment from The Tongue Fu Band (Nostalgia 77, Puppini Sisters) - and films from CR&D.
Phil Kay: Widely regarded as one of the finest improvising comics in the UK, star of his own Ch 4 TV series’ 'Phil Kay Feels' & 'Next Stop Phil Kay' as well as appearances on QI & Russell Howard's Good News (BBC). Expect fireworks.
Xanthe Gresham: Exquisite storytelling from a globetrotting performer who has worked with the National Theatre, the Tate and Barbican.
“She unfolds each tale like the petals of a lotus. At the end, you leave with something beautiful created in your own mind.” British Theatre Review
Vanessa Kisuule: Star of 2014 smashing her way through to win both Hammer & Tongue UK Slam Final and The Roundhouse Slam. Funny, fiery, smart and fearless poetry.
Hosted by Chris Redmond: Spoken word fiend, musician & Tongue Fu front man, (BBC R4’s Pick Of The Week, Scroobius Pip’s Beatdown XFM). Sometimes deep (ish).
