Do you want to find out what happens when performance and science collide? Join our students on from the University of Leeds Wednesday 18th March as they bring their passion for science to the stage in a nail biting Science Slam!
Science Slams are a science communication format where scientists explain their research in short talks and the audience vote on their favourites – the only rules are that they have to be scientific and FUN! Live experiments, props and drama are all encouraged!
The scientists have been teamed up with young performers from Cathedral Academy Performing Arts (CAPA), Wakefield, to deliver this fantastic event which will entertain and inform you.
The format is simple: teams of young scientists and performers take the audience by storm armed with nothing but their science, creativity and six minutes on the clock. Presented with the theme of the Human Body, our Slammers must inspire using spoken word, dance, theatre and wit.
Each team will have a chance to perform and then the power is in your hands - we need you, the audience, to be the judge, (or our official Slambassadors!) in this fierce battle that brings science and theatre together, and to decide who should be crowned the ultimate Slam Champion!
