In The Chapel, King's Building at the venue
A series of poetry readings chaired and introduced by Ruth Padel, Poetry Fellow in the Department of English. A fantastic opportunity to hear internationally renowned contemporary poets for free.
Poetry And... Origins with Vesna Goldsworthy and Bernard O'Donoghue
Poet and memoirist Vesna Goldsworthy's studies of Eastern Europe and the imaginative aspects of Imperialism have seen her emerge as an influential figure in the fields of history, literature and life-writing. Bernard O'Donoghue's poems are coloured as much by his Irish upbringing as by his distinguished career teaching Old and Medieval English at Wadham College, Oxford and his translations of poems including Gawain and the Green Knight.
There will be a questions and answers session at the end of the reading. Wine will be provided.
