WORD CLUB 6 will take place on Friday 26th June 2015, from 7.30 pm, at The Chemic Tavern, Leeds. Our headliners this month are Boltini, Hannah Stone and Noel Whitall, as well as the usual crew of ultra-talented open micers that would grace any open mic!


Boltini will be reading from his long-awaited debut collection, Narrow Ruled Feint with Margin, recently published by OWF Press.
“Boltini gives us a fabulous menagerie of animals with fierce minds of their own, and humans with quandaries. Whether it’s a louse longing for a degree in engineering; Noah having a crap set of tools; crows praying for the deaths of fishermen; or a revolution of stale scones, Boltini handles them all with delightful comic ease.”

Hannah Stone is becoming a familiar reader on the Yorkshire circuit. She is completing an MA in creative writing at Leeds Trinity University, has been published by Indigo Dreams in several anthologies and has a collection forthcoming with Stairwell Press in 2016. She was winner of the Yorkshire prize in the poetry business book and pamphlet competition.

Noel Whitall will also be reading from his long-awaited debut collection, Speak Another Language, recently published by OWF Press. “The language in this collection is the language of a man who looks at the world from a different angle, a man who infuses mundane situations with his grand, sparkling poetic sensibilities. The poems in 'Speak Another Language' range in scope and tone: from the hat shops of New York, the Piccadilly Line in London, the 'hard hills' of Airedale to the late bus to Leeds.” Gaia Holmes
