An exciting ensemble of poets use their lyrical ingenuity and heart-warming humour to explore topics of sexuality, death, mental health, love, gender, and violence.
Public Address: The Soapbox Tour features unique voices hailing from all corners of the UK. Justin Coe (Essex) delivers an entertaining coming-of-age tale exploring sexuality, whilst AJ McKenna (Newcastle) looks at love in its many guises through a fierce but fun poetry-live-art crossover; Jasmine Gardosi (Birmingham) shows searing intensity in a powerful snapshot study of mental health, as Shagufta K (Bristol) presents a web woven from the mythological past to the urgent present. Guest artists Henry Raby (York), Keisha Thompson (Manchester), Ingrid McLaren (Nottingham), Helen Seymour (Canterbury), and budding poets from Plymouth Young Writers Squad join the ensemble throughout the tour.
Directed by award winning writer, performer and theatre maker Hannah Silva – described by The Times as ‘one of the most ambitious and entertaining poets in the country’
