On Sunday 8th November Donall Dempsey of The 1000 Monkeys hosts FREE THE POETRY, a free open mic for spoken word and poetry, with feature spots from local performers The Dirty Carols and Dan Smith.
Spots of up to five minutes are offered in the open mic.
The Dirty Carols are an á cappella group of four girls whose songs delight audiences with the beauty of their harmonies and the frank filthiness and satirical cutting edge of their lyrics! Their performances in the Guildford Fringe were a huge hit, and they’re promising brand new songs for “Free the Poetry”.
Dan Smith is a young performance poet who made his Guildford debut at Pop Up Poetry at the Bar des Arts, as a student three years ago. He has now returned after his postgraduate studies to live in Farnham. We’re very excited to welcome him back to charm Guildford all over again with his easy performing style and fluent wordplay.
Entry: free
Time: 7:30pm
