Hosted by Dónall Dempsey.

The wheel has turned full circle! Dedicated poetry gigs return to the Boileroom, where Dónall Dempsey and Jan Windle (the 1000 Monkeys) first performed in Guildford, before beginning their series of poetry events in the Bar des Arts.

The Dirty Carols made their public debut at the Bar des Arts with the 1000 Monkeys in 2012. In July 2015 their show, “Has anyone seen my Terrier” was a double sell-out hit at the Guildford Fringe Festival. This á cappella group of four girls match angelic harmonies with their own wicked satire and witty filth to delight and charm their audiences! They have new songs to share on this special evening at the Boileroom!

Dan Smith is a young performance poet who also made his Guildford debut with the 1000 Monkeys, left Surrey in 2013 and has now returned after completing his postgraduate studies. We’re very excited to welcome him back as a featured performer, with his relaxed style of performance and laid-back humour.
