POWER PLANT: TAKING A SHOW TO THE EDINBURGH FRINGE
If you're considering taking a show to the Fringe, this could be the masterclass for you. Poetry has boomed at Edinburgh over the last five years, meaning that the time has never been better for spoken word artists to try their luck there.
At this workshop you'll get the lowdown from experienced Fringer Dan Simpson – of sell-out show Applied Mathematics, who took the 2015 free fringe festival by storm with solo show Dan Simpson: Nerdsmith and comedy vs poetry show Stand Up & Slam. Guest speaker is Chris Redmond, whose poetry and improvised music show Tongue Fu was an Edinburgh Fringe 2013 triumph! Dan will give the inside scoop on such thorny topics as, logistics, publicity, finances, and simply what makes a good show. Chris will talk you through his experience of the mainstream fringe, with Q&A sessions from both. Suitable for first-timers in search of a little Fringe-demystification, or Fringe-returners looking to get more out of their next foray.
