Ellen Storm is a poet and medical doctor who is currently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Lancaster. She won the Hippocrates Prize for Poetry and Medicine in 2014 and her first collection of poetry, Rupture, was published by the Hippocrates Press last year. Rupture explores medical experience from different perspectives, both personal and professional, and has been described as marking "the arrival of a vital and vivid new voice that can speak to the heart's brightness and darkness in all of us."
Edwin Stockdale will read from his fascinating collection Adventurine (Red Squirrel Press, 2014), rich in imaginative responses to writers such as Charlotte Bronte and Elizabeth Gaskell, Daphne du Maurier, Jane Austen and the writings, the times and places they inhabited. 'He has a strong lyrical voice...equally at home in the natural world and in reimagining the haunted gothic of Victorian sensibilities' (Katrina Naomi). Edwin is widely published in magazines, and is a member of Chester Poets and North West Poets.
