The Royal Victoria Country Park in partnership with Apples and Snakes presents
AND WE WERE YOUNG
Students from Brookfield Community School present their moving poems about The Great War and historic Netley Hospital, alongside nationally recognised performance poet Tommy Sissons.
Tommy will be performing an Apples and Snakes commissioned poem, ‘Our Children Will Inhabit a Wilderness’, about WWI, accompanied by Wildern Community Choir, and Matt West, Southampton Children's Poet Laureate, who will be reading a selection of war poetry by poets of The Great War and contemporary poets.
