Inspired by Black LGBT experiences, this autobiographical piece focuses on the ups and downs of pride and self-loathing, and finding a place where you shouldn’t be afraid to celebrate your individuality.
Spoken word performer Jamal Gerald (The Writing Squad, Young Enigma) develops the courage to tell his story of how he learned to embrace everything thrown his way, and how to wear labels without shame.
