An evening of poetry and music with poet and editor Maurice Riordan, Professor of Poetry at Hallam University and Roa Island’s acoustic duo Em & Suze. Many of Riordan's poems, though often downbeat, amused, even laconic, show a deep preoccupation with time, others a strong sense of place from the rural Ireland of his childhood to the energy of contemporary London. Em & Suze write and perform original rock and pop songs with a folk feel and are now firmly established on the Cumbria music scene. All this, plus the annual unveiling of the Poem & a Pint committee’s own poetic talents and MC Ross Baxter, will make for a memorable evening's entertainment.
