Come to David's Bookshop, Letchworth Garden City at 7.30pm on Thursday 10 March and hear Stuart Henson read poems from his recent collections, including 'Feast of Fools' (Shoestring, 2015).
Stuart Henson is the author of four plays, several children’s books, and four collections of poetry, including 'The Odin Stone' (Shoestring, 2011). 'Feast of Fools' is a sequence of 14 poems on the subject of various misericords in such places as Ely Cathedral and Beauvais Priory, each illustrated with a facing scraperboard image by Bill Sanderson. D. A Price, reviewing the book in London Grip, writes:- These aren’t historical descriptions (or illustrations) but a way of fusing the medieval with the twenty-first century through what Henson in his introduction calls the hopes, fears and pretensions of humanity.
Stuart Henson is a lively and engaging reader, and a stimulating and enjoyable evening is guaranteed.
Tickets £3.00 in advance from David’s Bookshop, 14 Eastcheap, Letchworth Garden City SG6 3DE and on the door (early booking is advised). Interval refreshments will be available.
