Boomsatsuma and one of the UK’s best known spoken word artists, Joelle Taylor will bring together three of the nation’s most celebrated female spoken word artists and poets to Bristol for a special event this March.
Held in Bristol’s newest and most intriguing art and performance venue, The Loco Klub, the event called ‘Mother Foucault’, promises a night of intellectual uprising, powerful poetry and furious dance.
Curating and hosting the event, Joelle Taylor is founder and Artistic Director of SLAMbassadors UK and the host of National Poetry Day Live at the Royal Festival Hall each year. Joining her on the stage, three leading spoken word artists will complete the evening’s all-female line up:
Sabrina Mahfouz - whose creative work has been recognized with a number of awards including a 2014 Fringe First Award and the 2013 Sky Arts Futures Fund Award.
Salena Godden - the indefinable black, punk, feminist poet, writer and performer who was once described by Kerrang! Magazine as “everything the Daily Mail is terrified”
Vanessa Kisuule - previous winner of SLAMbassadors UK who has apprwaed at festivals across the country including Glastonbury.
