Introduced by the Black Country Living Museum’s poet-in-residence, Dave Reeves, this month’s guests are poet Alison Absolute and storyteller John Edgar - and, as usual, there will be more excellent contributions from Canteen regulars with plenty of floor spots available.

John Edgar is a Wolverhampton based storyteller who combines his own, often hilarious, stories and songs with a range of tales from across the world. John also wrote the poem that is now engraved into the base of the fountain in Dudley Market Place.

Alison Absolute is a Worcester LitFest Slam Champion and was one of the ‘Steam Poets’ team at the Severn Valley Railway in Kidderminster.

MC Dave Reeves, will bring his own brand of cheerful chaos to the proceedings, strapping on his squeezebox to provide a musical soundtrack to some of his new work.

Free verse and rhyming ballads, a special thread for International Haiku Day, and work in the local Black Country dialect, you’ll hear them all at the venue where we put the 'cant' into canteen.

Price: £3.00

Time: 7.00pm for 7.30
