Readings from award-winning poet Michael Symmons Roberts. Michael’s poetry has won the Forward Prize, the Costa Poetry Prize and the Whitbread Poetry Award, and been shortlisted for the Griffin International Poetry Prize and the TS Eliot Prize. He has received major awards from the Arts Council and the Society of Authors. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and of the English Association.
Also a writer of fiction, libretti and scripts for radio and TV, Michael’s recent work has included a dramatisation of Thomas More’s classic ‘Utopia’ for BBC Radio 4.

As well as performing his poetry, Michael will talk to Cathy Shrank (Professor of Tudor & Renaissance Literature at the University of Sheffield) on the themes of More’s 'Utopia', which celebrates its 500th anniversary this year.
