This month's event at The Works’ Canteen sees the award winning poet David Hart joining us for a mug of tea and to give a rare reading of his work as the headline guest.
A winner of the National Poetry Competition, runner up on two other occasions and a former Birmingham Poet Laureate, David Hart’s reputation as a serious poet is only matched by his reputation for the warmth and humour of his work. His latest book is The Library Inspector from Nine Arches press and it is an excellent read as he casts his eye over the decline of our libraries with wit, wistfulness and regret.
The evening will, as usual be hosted by poet, performer and squeezebox player Dave Reeves, the museum’s poet-in-residence and there will be plenty of opportunity to read your own work in the ever-surprising Open Mic section.
Price: £3.00
Time: 7.00pm for 7.30
