In this final event of the season, The Works' Canteen celebrates Black Country Day with Heather Wastie.
A poet, singer/songwriter, keyboard/accordion player, actor, and humourist, Heather grew up in the Black Country and, with three illustrated books of poetry published, became Worcestershire Poet Laureate 2015/16. Having been described as ‘Wendy Cope with added bite,’ Heather’s work can be both comic and emotionally engaging - often both at the same time. You can find out more about her at http://www.wastiesspace.co.uk/
There will also be readings from some of our excellent regular spoken word artists and poets, and plenty of opportunity to perform your own work, all brought together and compered by that other squeezebox playing poet, the Museum’s poet-in-residence Dave Reeves.
Price: £3.00
Time: 7.00pm for 7.30
