A richly atmospheric evening of performances and newly commissioned work responding to MR James’ ghost story, The Haunted Doll’s House, by the UK’s leading poet and Professor of Poetry at Oxford, Simon Armitage; Hedgebrook Fellow, poet, playwright and performer Rommi Smith and her band; and poet and essayist John Siddique. The evening includes readings from the original story by actor Joe Williams, soundscapes by Jonnie Khan, an exquisitely carved and unsettling ‘Haunted Doll’s House’ made by Steve Manthorp and a mysterious, ceramic sculpture by Adele Howitt responding to Edith Wharton’s short story about spectral spouses, Pomegranate Seed.
