Live literature evening at Penned on the Bont at Carnegie House, Bridgend featuring multi-award winning poet Philip Gross and Mab Jones PLUS Open Mic, hosted by Rhian Edwards.
Philip Gross' The Water Table won the T.S.Eliot Prize 2009, and Love Songs of Carbon the Roland Mathias Award (Wales Book of The Year) 2016.
His latest collaborative publication, with artist Valerie Coffin Price, is A Fold In The River (Seren, 2015). His libretto for The King in the Car Park, a cantata about the discovery of the bones of Richard III, was performed in Leicester Cathedral. A new collection, A Bright Acoustic, is due from Bloodaxe in 2017. Philip is Professor of Creative Writing at University of South Wales. www.philipgross.co.uk
Mab Jones will be launching her second collection Take Your Experience and Peel It (Indigo Books), winner of the Geoff Stevens Memorial Poetry Prize.
Mab has been described as a "unique talent" (The Times) who has read her work all over the UK, in the US, France, Ireland and Japan. She is winner of the John Tripp Spoken Poetry Audience Award, the Word Factory Neil Gaiman Short Story competition amongst others.
Her first collection, Poor Queen, was published by Burning Eye Books. She teaches creative writing at Cardiff University, writes for the New York Times, and presents a poetry programme on BBC Radio 4 this coming November. She also coordinates International Dylan Thomas Day. www.mabjones.com
