An evening of poetry, prose, music and entertainment. A special event this month launching "Voices of 1919" by Mike Alma, where featured poets will read their work from this anthology. Opening the evening will be the unique Dave Reeves (Dave edited the regional new writing magazine Raw Edge Magazine until 2009, presents a monthly live literature show online at RadioWildfire.com and is poet in residence at the Black Country Living Museum), and headlining will be the fabulous Emma Purshouse. Emma is a freelance writer and performance poet from the Black Country. She performs regularly at spoken word nights and literature festivals across the country. Emma has dabbled in stand-up comedy, and recently her children’s poetry collection ‘I Once Knew a Poem Who Wore a Hat’ (Fair Acre Press) won the Rubery Book Award Poetry Prize. She was also shortlisted recently for The Brighton Prize. Emma is an experienced workshop facilitator.Guest poets include, Heather Wastie, Ruth Stacey, Sarah Leavesley, Gary Carr plus open mic-ers. Spoz and Maggie Doyle co-host.
