readings by Char March and Rob Hindle.

Char March has won many awards for poetry (‘a blisteringly good poet’), playwriting and short fiction,( ‘an amazing storyteller’). Her credits include: the short story collection Something Vital Fell Through, five poetry collections including The Thousand Natural Shocks, six BBC Radio 4 plays, and eight stage plays. She’s been Writer-in-Residence for loads of places from the NHS to art galleries; landscape projects to business schools. She has lectured in creative writing Leeds College of Art & Design and Universities across the North.

Rob Hindle's poetry brings together lyric forms and narrative instincts to interrogate moments of history.  His interest in how historical/political forces are imposed on ordinary people, and what they do, or are unable to do, about it, has produced a distinctive catalogue of poetry, illuminating local stories (Some Histories of the Sheffield Flood 1864, The Purging of Spence Broughton, Flights and Traverses) and larger events, including the Spanish Civil War (Yoke and Arrows). He is currently spinning Malory's Holy Grail narratives into the muddy weft of the First World War.

Plus our usual celebrated single poem Open Mic.

Suggested donation £4 towards poets’ expenses.
