Come to this year's fresh round of Just Write Speaks!
We're starting off this time with the highly talented, wonderful Gemma Lees who is a well known poet both locally and and all over the UK who has had several books published for kids as well as adults. She has run workshops, literacy and learning festivals and is heavily involved in charity work. Gemma has been involved with various youth and support and is generally a pheonominal wordsmith and a lovely human being whose hard-hittiing, powerful writing hits home truths in all audiences. It is an absolute pleasure to welcome her back to our evenings.
As well as that, we have Oliver H Baines Oliver started to write poetry without the idea of ever even performing and it is only been a year since he started this current creative endeavour. Over the past few months he has been performing at open mic nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he was the winner of a 'Hammer and Tongues' slam poetry competiton, and has also recently performed at 'Evidently' at the Eagle Inn in Salford. His poetry is ascerbic and approaches a range of subjects, it's accessible and is delievered with a punch that resonates well after he's left the stage. He's new so give him a warm Just Write Speaks welcome!
***As always, there are open Mic slots. These can be booked by arriving early and signing up on the night or via this event page.***
