Start your day the right way with a moment of contemplation – part of a series of festival Epiphany’s. Join writer/performer Geneviève Walsh, a Yorkshire-raised Londoner and writer of poetry that 'shines an unforgiving light on contemporary life and manners, doing so with words which are full of sometimes shocking honesty' (WF Live).
She has been compère and coordinator of her night Spoken Weird since 2013, and a member of nationally acclaimed spoken word organisation A Firm of Poets since the same year, with whom she still performs, runs workshops and co-hosts their Saboteur-nominated night, Unity Words. She released her début solo collection, The Dance of a Thousand Losers, earlier this year, which has been described by Henry Normal as ‘keen and urgent with an untamed beauty - like a puma caught under a streetlight’.
Part of Wakefield Lit Fest, Talking Loud & Saying Summat.
Entry: Free, no need to book
Time: 10:00am (10am-11am)
