An evening of poetry and music. The event features poet Miriam Nash who studied in Britain and the USA and graduated with an MFA in poetry in 2014. She has performed her work internationally and brought poetry into schools, museums, mental health organisations and prisons in the UK, USA and Singapore. Miriam spent her early years on the Isle of Erraid off the west coast of Scotland, where Robert Louis Stevenson's family once worked as lighthouse engineers. and voices of the island echo through her first collection, All the Prayers in the House (Bloodaxe, 2017). She will be supported by music from one of Cumbria’s most versatile and popular ensembles, The Bluegrass Project, a group that has become well known for its rendition of traditional American music. There are six open mic slots, sign up at the door.
