Wakefield Rising: a day celebrating the creative talent in Wakefield
On the final day of the festival, poet, Simon Widdop hosts a packed day dedicated to the city’s creatives to showcase the work of local emerging writers and performers – part of Wakefield Lit Fest’s seed fund initiative that supports local talent development by providing a platform to share work. This year we have a dynamic programme of events from family workshops and storytelling, site-specific theatre, performance, live music, talks and spoken word - from the Penguin Posse to Rising Renga games and a grand musical finale with Ruby Macintosh. Various events throughout the day, drop in.
