Well well well. Just Write is back for a hallowe'en edition! Fancy dress is absolutely encouraged!
We're in The Old White Lion for another wonderful evening of good company, fine alcohols and splendid poetry.

As usual, there are open mic slots available. These are STRICTLY 3 minutes or 1 poem (this gives everyone a chance to get up and read and helps you hone your fine performances!) There will be a sign up thread for the open mic below.

We also have two fantastic headliners in the form of Ros Ballinger and Matthew Nicholson. Read about them below.

ROS BALLINGER is a poet and stand-up comedian whose show 'The Idiot's Guide to Kink' has just returned from the Edinburgh Fringe, after runs in London, Manchester and across the north. She's headlined at Stirred, Working Title and other spoken word nights across Manchester and her comedy continues to go from strength to strength. Ros likes feminism and pasta.

MATTHEW NICHOLSON
Matthew is an honest, straight talking, bearded northerner. Originally from Leeds he recently relocated to Worcestershire after three years living in the Outer Hebrides recovering from a breakdown. Since returning he has been busy travelling by the luxury of Megabus to perform in Leeds, Bristol, Lincoln, Liverpool, Huddersfield and Bournemouth.

He writes with a gritty realism. Harrowing, inspiring and brutal yet beautiful in its honesty. He shares tales of life and the struggle faced by those most affected by an unfair and unbalanced society.

“He delivers a mixture of dark humour, philosophical musings, and concrete imagery with real venom ” (Saboteur award winner Steve Nash)

Matthew has shared a stage with Hollie McNish, Dominic Berry, Jackie Hagan, Salena Godden, Gav Roberts, Ash Dickinson, Matt Abbott, Genevieve Walsh, Victoria Garbutt and many more.
