Cripes, it's another Big Poetry!
Torquay's loudest, biggest, noisiest spoken word night is back! Hosted by Samantha Boarer and Robert Garnham, this night features some of the finest locally-sourced poets.
Tonight's special headliner is Alexander Rhodes!
Alexander Rhodes is not real. He is just an idea.
If you look hard enough you will find evidence of a previous incarnation as a DJ and producer of electronic music. A few house music mixes here, the odd chill out track there, echoing in the digital ether. Alexander's poetry is inspired by the free-thinking of the rave generation and heavily-influenced by his breaking-free from an oppressive religious cult.
His work tackles concepts of self, society and awareness with the right blend of humour, a dash of inspiration and moments of genuine despair.
Expect wry observations, chemically-induced inspirations and twisted logic.
Alexander's titles include:
Genesis Slam Finalist, 2016
Hammer & Tongue Edinburgh Fringe Festival heat winner, 2016/2017
Hammer & Tongue UK Slam Finalist, 2017
Apples & Snakes regional slam winner, 2018
Apples & Snakes South West slam runner-up, 2018
Promoter and host of Plymouth spoken-word brand 'Pucker Poets' and curator of the Pucker Poets Glastonbury Festival spoken-word stage.
'A sharp, confident performer with excellent material' - Attila the Stockbroker.
Price: £6.00
