Hi Scribblers,
Before I scuttle South, making my own Brexit, that is, a Brit exiting Britain, to go to the port of Oporto in Portugal, may be for a glass of vinho de Porto, here's to let you know that Co-op Writers York Workshop are holding a writers workshop on the top floor of the Eagle and Child pub on High Petergate, York, 3pm-6pm, on Sunday, 5th August. So earlier than the usual time!
No guest star published writers doing presentations on this occasion, though there may be one or two lurking in the shadows nursing a beer or may be a gin. It's down to you again, my friends or anyone you want to bring along who respects our ethos of support of writers in their writing.
We welcome anyone who writes, whatever you ambition/intention for your writing, provided it respects or is consistent with our ethos of not being threatening or disrespecting other writers present. This social consideration is important.
We also welcome work that overlaps with or draws on non-literary art, for instance, music or graphic art. Although our leading lines are poetry and short stories or excerpts from novels, we welcome other forms, such as sketches for stage, songs and song lyrics, essays and reviews.
Please bring 5 or 6 copies of your work, which ought not to exceed 2,000 words or 4 sides of A4, and £2 if you're waged, otherwise £1.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, 5th August, from 3pm to 6pm.
Wishing you happy Lammas and Yorkshire Day, on Wednesday, 1st August, and much creativity.
Adrian
Entry: £2 waged; £1 unwaged
Time: 15.00-18.00
