In Town Tonight: Heather Christle & Jack Underwood

A chance to hear visiting US-poet Heather Christle, author of four poetry collections (Heliopause, What Is Amazing, The Difficult Farm, and The Trees The Trees, which won the 2012 Believer Poetry Award), who hails from a small Ohio village, where she is writing a book of prose about crying.

Heather will be joined by Jack Underwood, author of Faber collection Happiness (winner of the 2016 Somerset Maugham prize), and of two Test Centre pamphlets Solo for Mascha Voice and Tenuous Rooms both out this year, and who is currently writing a non-fiction book about poetry and uncertainty.

And in a late special addition to the bill Paige Lewis will read alongside Jack and Heather. Paige is the author of Space Struck (Sarabande Books, 2019). Their poems have appeared in Poetry, American Poetry Review, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. They live and teach in Indiana, and are currently writing a book-length non-binary epic poem.
