A very special In Town Tonight with visiting Jordanian poet Hisham Bustani and rising poetry star Phoebe Power.

Hisham Bustani is an award-winning Jordanian author of five collections of short fiction and poetry, acclaimed for his bold style and unique narrative voice, and often experiments with the boundaries of short fiction and prose poetry. Much of his work revolves around issues related to social and political change, particularly the dystopian experience of post-colonial modernity in the Arab world.

Phoebe Power's debut collection, Shrines of Upper Austria (Carcanet, 2018) has been shortlisted for the 2018 T. S. Eliot Prize and is winner of the 2018 Forward (Felix Dennis) Prize for Best First Collection. She received an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors in 2012 and a Northern Writers’ Award in 2014. She has recently collaborated with other artists on projects including a live performance of her pamphlet Harp Duet (Eyewear, 2016), and Christl, a video installation involving poetry, visual art and sound. She currently lives in York.
