Scribblers ahoy!
Still over a fortnight of summer holidays and summer blooms, but squeezed in after the end of the Edinburgh Fringe and just before the return to school, please join us, most probably in The Drawing Room on the first floor of The Eagle & Child on High Petergate, York, for a writers workshop on Sunday, 1st September, 5.30 to 8.30 in the evening.
As usual, please bring 3 or 4 copies of the work you wish to air and share, not to exceed 2,000 words or 4 pages of A4, and £2, if you're waged, £1, if you aren't.
A writing exercise may be introduced to enliven the proceedings, but not at the expense of your work. That always comes first!
Meanwhile, enjoy summer's bounty and, wherever you go, take a pad and/or your phone with you. You never know when you'll need to capture a moment or commit thoughts to paper or to an electronic note-pad.
Please also note that we're interested in literary work that combines with or is included in other art forms, so graphic art that contains words or literary work that is illustrated, also work which combines music and literature, such as lyrics, which we're happy for you to sing, accompanied or unaccompanied.
