Carcanet's jubilee celebrations in Wales: an afternoon symposium followed by evening readings, kindly hosted by Cardiff University.
Now in its fifth decade, Carcanet Press publishes the most comprehensive and diverse list available of modern and classic poetry in English and in translation, as well as a range of inventive fiction, Lives and Letters and literary criticism.
Please join us to celebrate Carcanet’s Jubilee at our Cardiff party, a day of presentations, discussions and poetry readings, during which we intend to explore the relationships between publisher and poet over the years, Carcanet's involvement with historic Welsh poetry, and the state and development of poetry publishing in Wales today. The schedule of events is below, and all are welcome to join us for the full day or the evening readings (which can be booked separately). This is an essential day of events for anyone interested in poetry and publishing.
This is the third in a series of celebratory symposia around the UK and Ireland for Carcanet’s Jubilee. Later events will take place at the Scottish Poetry Library and the Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts.
