Headliner

Cat Hepburn is an award-winning scriptwriter and spoken word artist who has written for stage, screen and page. She is a well known face on the spoken word scene, as well as story-writing for television dramas and soaps for the BBC and Channel 4. Her poetry has been featured on BBC6 Music, ITV and the Edinburgh Fringe. Cat has supported the likes of George The Poet and Dr John Cooper Clarke, and is the co-founder of Sonnet Youth, one of Scotland’s leading poetry events producers.

Featured poet

Jonny Lindsey is a Lancashire based poet who uses a dry sense of humour to cover topics from mental health to social issues and political satire. His poetry has been featured on BBC Radio Lancashire and at National Festival of Making. His poem ‘Proud To Be From The North’ was published in the anthology Manchester Buzzin Bards 2020. He regularly performs around Lancashire and Manchester and has an upcoming performance at Leeds Poetry Festival.

Janey Colbourne is a spoken word performer who grew up in Blackburn, and has been a regular at the Bureau’s Artspace open mic. She was recently a featured performer at Wigan Diggers’ Festival, Truth to Power Cafe, We Shall Overcome, That’s What She Said, and King St Festival, Manchester. She is a regular contributor writer for Earth Pathways Diary, and has a poem published in the anthology Peterloo Poems by Manchester People. Janey sees spoken word as a means to connect and empower communities, whilst also having fun.
