Todmorden Writers' Collective (TWC) is proud to welcome acclaimed poet Jenny Mitchell to Todmorden, to read from her collection Map Of A Plantation (Indigo Dreams, 2020). At the Golden Lion, Todmorden, W. Yorkshire, UK, and also live on Zoom.

The collection gives voice to the characters on a Jamaican cane plantation, to examine the widespread and ongoing impact of enslavement. It recently won the Poetry Book Awards 2021, and was chosen as a Literary Find in the Irish Independent; and it contains the winning poems of the Segora Prize 2020 and the Aryamati Prize 2020.

We'll also have an open mic, with some of the best poets and writers in the Calder Valley and beyond.

We'll be in the downstairs side room at the fabulous Golden LIon, Todmorden; or you can join us on Zoom. It's our first proper hybrid event, so we're excited for you to join us!
