An evening of poetry and music from the Slad valley, marking the 25th anniversary of Laurie Lee’s death.
To commemorate the passing of Laurie Lee on 13th May 1997, fiddle player Becky Dellow and poet Adam Horovitz bring a version of their show, first performed during Laurie’s centenary year, back to Stroud’s Museum in the Park, featuring poetry, prose and music from the Slad valley.
The Apple’s Rounded World, originally commissioned for Laurie Lee’s centenary, is a non-stop lyrical guide to the much-loved, much-written about valley. It features poetry and prose written by Laurie Lee, Frank Mansell, Horovitz and his poet parents Frances and Michael, and covers nearly every decade from 1914 onwards.
